πŸ’°Protocol Fees Redistribution

A fair fee sharing model

While today's EtherScore services are free of charges, in the future we may activate some fees redistributed among EtherScore token stakers, EtherScore DAO and EtherScore foundation.

This is our current vision (please note that it may change):

Deploying or minting EtherScore badges would cost users (or Dapps) a base fee. Protocols may also add an additional fee for their users. Fee will be distributed among 4 actors:

  1. Minting cost: Decentralization comes at a cost. A portion of the fee will be used to pay for inherent "gas costs" associated with The Graph Protocol and Chainlink. Relying on these technologies allows badges to provide a solution that is highly decentralized and performs a real-time eligibility check.

  2. ETS stakers: EtherScore badge holders can stake their token to receive a share of protocol fees.

  3. EtherScore Foundation: to develop EtherScore and reach a sustainable economy, decentralized architecture and mainstream adoption. With time, the percentage of fees allocated to the EtherScore foundation may be reduced as they β€œexit to community” and transition to a full DAO.

  4. EtherScore DAO: a decentralized treasury governed by the EtherScore community. The DAO will be used to fund the issuance of EtherScore's own badge collection, partnerships, or to incentivize the use of EtherScore (through airdrops, staking pools, timed contests, grants, hackathons, and other rewards).
